Lost And Found Donated To A Good Cause
Abandoned Items in the Mall Find New Homes via United Way of Will County
BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – December 19, 2017 — Ever wonder what happens to the items lost or found at The Promenade Bolingbrook? If they’re not reclaimed at the mall’s security department after six months, they’re donated to a selected local charity.
On Friday, December 1, The Promenade Bolingbrook donated lost and found items to United Way of Will County. Every donation, which happens two to three times annually, varies. Items might include unclaimed bicycles, lost bags of brand-new merchandise and children’s and adult clothing left behind on benches, in bathrooms or in restaurants.
Formed in 1976, United Way of Will County is a nonprofit that assists 46 local agencies in raising funds and helping with the organizational and administrative costs for their health and human service programs. Its many services include supplementing shelters for the homeless and giving rent, food, hygiene products and utility assistance; providing disaster relief; and distributing meals to low food-access areas of Will County.
The Promenade Bolingbrook features more than 75 stores, restaurants and an eight-screen iPic theater. Stores include Macy’s, H&M, Barnes & Noble, Bass Pro Shops, Victoria’s Secret, Francesca’s Collection, DSW Shoes, Kay Jewelers, The Children’s Place, Foot Locker, Forever 21, and Justice. Dining options include BD’s Mongolian Grill, Mago Grill and Cantina and Red Mango Yogurt & Smoothies.
